About one fifth of the US population seems to have mental problems,
particularly anxiety disorders. American people have to deal
with being depressed, feeling anxious as well as having panic attacks and
even being traumatized; all of which are common anxiety disorder symptoms.
This excessive fear and worry starts to hamper someones ability to
function normally, and it is mostly a characteristic of an anxiety
disorder that is forcing a good number of people to seek treatment for
this distressing disease.
Panic Attack
The most commonly noticed anxiety disorder symptom is that of
a panic attack in which the affected person starts to feel an intense
amount of fear and is unable to face life on his or her own. Panic attacks
generally develop over a shorter period of time and will usually do their
damage within fifteen minutes.
Fear, worry as well as anxiety is all part and parcel of everyday life
and as such not something to be unduly worried about. The fact is, that
professionals that handle mental health are not worried about limited
amount of such worries, fears and anxieties. However, when anxiety
disorder symptoms start to show up, these professionals have little option
but to sit up and take notice, especially as these symptoms will last for
as long as six months.
There are certain physical anxiety disorder symptoms that are noticed.
These are caused when someones brain starts to send messages to various
parts of the body, instructing those parts to prepare for impending doom.
This in turn means that the patients heart, lungs and other body parts
will start to work at a faster rate. The brain than releases certain
stress hormones like adrenaline which helps developing the physical
anxiety disorder symptoms.
The physical anxiety disorder symptoms include discomfort in the
abdomen, experiencing diarrhea, dryness in the mouth, rapid heartbeats as
well as tightness in the chest area and some pain. In addition, the
physical anxiety disorder symptoms also include shortness of breath,
urinating frequently, feeling dizzy and having difficulties in
swallowing.
The mental anxiety disorder symptoms include becoming an insomniac,
feeling very irritable, not being able to concentrate and experiencing
fear of impending death or becoming crazy as well as feeling quite
unreal.
Panic anxiety disorders are also quite common and recently appear to
have affected some celebrities. Maybe an excessive consumption of alcohol
or even drug abuse is the reason. Anyway, these persons suffer
significantly and have to live a life of dread as well as senseless
fears.
